Position Title: Inventory Control Clerk

Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring inventory movement, and supporting production and shipping operations through timely and accurate inventory transactions. This position ensures material availability, inventory accuracy, and proper documentation throughout the facility.
 
 The role works closely with purchasing, shipping, production, welding, sewing, and logistics departments to help prevent shortages, overages, and inventory discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the company ERP or inventory management system.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Monitor raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing materials against packing slips, bills of lading, and production paperwork.
  • Process inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors regarding material shortages and replenishment needs.
  • Generate inventory reports for management.
  • Label and organize inventory locations within the warehouse and production areas.
  • Assist with maintaining FIFO inventory practices where applicable.
  • Ensure inventory procedures comply with company quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of inventory, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and inventory software.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and data entry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or returnable packaging industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Fishbowl, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar.
  • Understanding of cycle counting and inventory auditing procedures.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving documentation.
